The Verneuil Process brought about synthetic sapphires in the early 1900s, making it common for a lab created sapphire or ruby to pop up in Art Deco pieces. The Art Deco Era kicked off with 1925 Paris Exposition where innovation was everything. Incorporating lab created stones with the increasingly detailed filigree designs made possible with new machinery
