General Questions

How long will it take to ship my online order?
While we do have stock in our shops, most jewelry is made to order. We ship within 7-14 days from your order date. If you need it quicker (like if it's a birthday or anniversary gift) let us know and we can more than likely accommodate. Rush fees may apply depending on the turn around time.
I live in Boston, Cambridge or Northampton - can I just come pick up my order?
You ordered something online, but don't want it shipped? Great! Just drop us a line and let us know where you’d like to pick up. We will email you when it’s ready and you can get it whenever it’s convenient for you. We will refund your shipping fee when you pick up the jewelry.
What is "vermeil"?
Vermeil is one hundred layers of 14k gold bonded on sterling silver. Unlike plating, vermeil is a permanent bond of precious metals that will not wear down in a lifetime, unless regularly exposed to chemicals that erode metal (perfume, hair spray, chlorine, etc).
What is "gold-filled"?
Gold-filled is 14k gold bonded with a base metal to create an alloy that is equivalent to approximately 9k gold. Because it is an alloy metal it does not wear off or change color.
How is that different from something plated?
You won't see anything plated at Rebekah Brooks! Plating is a process that applies a thin layer of solid gold to a brass base. The outer layer of gold is not substantial -- it is estimated to be 0.05% or less of the total metal product. Gold plating typically wears away quickly and does not withstand heat or water.
Do you buy gold?
We do not.
Are your gemstones all genuine?
We use only fine quality natural gemstones, unless otherwise specified. We have gemological degrees and 30 years of experience in selecting and assessing stones. As with all natural gemstones in the industry, many of them are treated, but we also offer untreated, certified gemstones within our line and as requested.
What is your Privacy Policy?

We collect the following types of information about you:

Only information you provide us directly. We ask for information such as name, email, birthdate, and anniversary. We use this information to send you information about our company and offers including birthday and anniversary discounts. Your information if you choose to give it will not be made public without your permission.


Antiques

Our antique offerings are an ever changing, curated selection reflecting our passion for gorgeous old adornments. The jewelry we select represents incredible craft often constructed with a level of detail that eludes its modern counterpart. That said, some of these pieces are very old and while they have been restored in our studio, antiques can require maintenance depending upon how they’re worn.
Is there any guarantee on antique pieces?
Our antiques are sold in AS IS condition and may need additional restoration. We offer a wide range of repairs and we are always here to offer a reasonable estimate on restoration to make sure your jewelry is in the best condition.
How do I know this isn’t a reproduction?
We only buy from select, reputable dealers with whom we have long-standing relationships. Our RB staff are also GIA trained professionals who can tell right away if a piece of jewelry is not what it seems. There are telltale signs that we look for and we have lots of resources to date jewelry accurately.
Can you put my great-grandmother’s diamond/sapphire into a different setting?
Yes, we do this all the time! If you have a piece you've dreamed of giving new life or have something completely custom in mind we would love to hear about it. You may call or stop by any one of our stores to talk to our expert associates about any custom job. If you're too far away to visit feel free to email us and we'll explore options together! We regularly work with people remotely from all over the world.
Will you buy my old jewelry?
We do not purchase pieces from individual sellers, but we can help you turn an old piece into something that you'll love!

Repairs & Restoration

We offer free repairs on Rebekah Brooks jewelry purchased within one year and on antique jewelry within 30 days. If you ever have problems past that cutoff, we will always provide a reasonable estimate for repair work. We stand behind our jewelry 100% and will always strive to make you happy!
How do I get my repair to you?

Once you've contacted us, we ask that you mail the piece in a padded envelope or box. (Jewelry will rip through paper envelopes and we are not responsible for jewelry lost in the mail due to torn or insufficient packaging.)

Enclose your name, request, return address, and contact info. Please allow 3-4 weeks for repairs, which we ship back to you via UPS.

Do you resize?
Absolutely! We resize our own rings, 100+ year old heirlooms, and even pieces you've purchased elsewhere. Please contact us for pricing details or to schedule a sizing appointment.
What else can you do?
Re-stringing, laser welding, stone polishing, stone setting, antique restoration, engraving... the list goes on and on! Because we believe in preserving the art of hand-fabrication, there's very little we can't do. Just contact us to learn more!

Shipping & Packaging

DOMESTIC SHIPPING
Orders ship via USPS or insured FedEx ground with signature confirmation. You will be emailed the tracking number when the order ships. Our domestic shipping rates vary.
    How will my order be shipped?
    Your Rebekah Brooks order will be packaged in our lovely black recycled paper jewelry boxes. Rings ship in black velvet ring boxes. Some larger antique jewelry (like necklaces) ship in larger 'deluxe' velvet boxes suited to their size & splendor.

    Our pieces travel in plain padded envelopes to avoid calling attention to the valuable treasures inside!

    INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING
    We charge $30 for USPS Global Priority with tracking for orders under $1000. Orders over $1000 we price individually based on value & destination. Contact us for more details on international pricing.
    Do you gift wrap?
    All of our boxes are lovely so we don't do additional gift-wrapping.

    Will there be a receipt/invoice in my package?
    We don't print a paper receipt for every order unless you ask. Your emailed receipt is more environmentally friendly and harder to misplace!

    Returns & Exchanges

    If you buy jewelry from Rebekah Brooks and are unhappy with it, you may exchange it within 15 days of purchase for another piece of equal or greater value or store credit.
    For items purchased between Black Friday and Christmas, our return policy is extended through January 15th.

    The original receipt must accompany all exchanged items.

    ANTIQUE AND CUSTOM ORDERS ARE FINAL SALE
    No returns or exchanges on antique items or custom orders. Antique purchases are final. Altered items are also non-returnable.
